Five Facts

* The sound of the human voice is beautiful. In song, a baby crying, laughter, idle chit-chat...It's all good. I wish I could hear the sound of your voice right now.

*I do not want conduct financial matters online.  I like to go to the bank, fill out the necessary slips, exchange pleasantries with the teller (note above), wave to the manager and greet the person who walks up in line after me.

*Nor do I want to conduct all communications online. I enjoy the walk to the post office, where I greet the window clerk (note above again!) and buy my stamps to afix to the hand written envelopes I carry with me. If I am lucky, I may even enjoy a conversation or two with other patrons. People are wonderful.

* My home is a tortilla, Frito, taco, burrito, etc. Free Zone. But please, feel free to stop by with lime juice, salt and tequila. Anytime.

* There's nothing like sitting on a beach with a frosted beverage and a book.
For about an hour.  Then the book gets boring, the sun gets too hot, the sand gets scratchy, and the
    drink waters down.
Which means it time to enjoy the vacation and go exploring, doing, experiencing, learning and
    discovering.

Sorry that I haven't visited for so long. I've missed you all!
I quite agree. I was only saying to somebody the other day that when we were first married 47 years ago, the farmers all went into town on a Tuesday to sell/ buy cattle or just to look and chat! The men would go in on the morning and the wives and children would join them for lunch....going shopping etc. I have such fond memories....it was a social day in an otherwise isolated job! Since foot and mouth and work being done on the computer it has gone to a very isolated existence ! Progress isn't always good!, Joan

That dive looks like it was a lot of fun.
I agree, it's nice not to do everything online.

I prefer people connections as well . . . receving smiles and pleasantries puts the pep in my step for the day. (I like online banking though . . . )

Your dive looks like great fun, says something about the color of blue . . .

Fun facts Miss Purl . . .

Wow! Is that you scuba diving? I could never do that. Amazing experience, I bet.

Me? I much more of a hermit and prefer comfortable situations. I've come to accept that and it's okay.

Thanks so much for sharing today my friend. xo

I love fact #5 - so true for me as well. I love online banking - just don't have time to make it to a bank during banking hours. I love online communications, but worry about a day where that's the only way people do communicate - scary.

I've got the tequila and I walk to the bank, too. Great underwater shots. Looks like fun!

I am the EXACT same way when at the beach!! I can't stand to be out there for too long before I get annoyed and want to go exploring! It was tough growing up because the rest of my family could have spent the entire day at the beach. Good thing my husband is the same as me and loves adventuring and exploring!

Also, I don't know how you go without Mexican food! It's a staple in our house. We have it at least once a week!

i make a damn fine frozen margarita! stop by and have a visit on the deck any time!

Great underwater photos! Looks so fun, but I don't know if I'd have the courage to try it!

I love Mexican food. My husband and I eat too much of it. But margaritas are the best!

I still like to run errands around town--it makes me feel part of the community.

I think we're sisters! I feel the same way about the beach! I had the same conversation with the bank lady the other day...she asked why I never use the drive through and I said because I like to see her smile ;)

i agree with letters & sending lots of them. but i wish i could get a few in return. i enjoy working with the bank in person - but find it easier to do over the internet (online) because i have to travel over 100 miles to get to my bank. makes more sense. got to watch those pennies.

have a great weekend. ( :
