River Hill Distillery

Just a few miles from our farmhome,
down a proverbial dirt road,
there lies a still.

Where barley and corn become bourbon and whisky.

Fred and Amy, whose family has been farming their land for over 200 years, took us behind the scenes to show us how it's done.

Fascinating.

We met a few more neighbors and enjoyed the lively conversation and laughter.
Especially when Fred noted:

I am the only legal still in the county,
but dang sure ain't the biggest.

(I am an official IRISH whiskey taster . . . I love me some Paddy's . . .). Awwwww, . . . the stories!

I don't have much of a taste for strong alcohol but what an interesting procedure!
