Baaa....

...HUMBUG!

No sheep in the barn yard.
 Yet.

Ma's Ray grew up raising pigs and ever since they came for a weekend back in January and never left, he has been wanting to get a couple of oinkers.
So the reinvigorated old West Virginia farm boy did just that.

And once he is settled in with the swine, he promises to learn what he can about sheep and help me to farm some fiber. Ray is the best.

I will however, ignore his stories of how his family always had a milk cow when he was growing up.
At least I will try.
Maybe.

Oh, my! A milk cow definitely needs daily attention! Hope Ray is ready to do that milking!

I can't imagine holding a pig like that. My hat is off to Ray!

I'm going to get a kitten when it is born. No pigs but you can have what you like. I understand tthe need to suround yourself with the familiar. I would love a sheep but they are smelly. xo Jenny

Are these pet pigs or pork pigs? (maybe I don't want to know)

Try alpaca for fiber farming. Cleaner and smarter than sheep. They use one place for their potty spot, and the manure is good for the garden. Neutered males can often be had for a bargain price.

Never a day off from milking! Not that easy to find someone to do the milking either...at least Iwouldn't think it would be.
