The Bounty

It's been an amazing gardening year thus far.

But I am not sure what to make of the albino squash and cukes.

Long relatively cool spring with ample rain.

The freezer is full of broccoli, brussel spouts, peas, kohlrabi,

and of course peas.

The pigs really enjoy all the garden scraps

There is a big 'ole crock of cabbage fermenting into sauerkraut in the cellar...a new experiment for me ...and the canning has begun.

It has all seemed a bit easier this year.

corn, pumpkins, limas, butternut and watermelon on the way in the far outer patch

Perhaps its the experience factor.
Perhaps its the better tools and reworking of layout, water lines and fencing.

I don't mind weeding. Listening to the songs of the birds and the wind chimes is so soothing.
Perhaps it is that I have spent more time in the veggie patches as an escape from the elders when needed.

Perhaps it is simply that I love what I do.

SO envious of your space. It looks like a bountiful harvest, enjoy your rewards, you work hard enough for them.

what a lovely bounty from your garden. I've never seen white cucumbers or squash but they look pretty.

I think it's all of the above. This has been a glorious year so far for spending time in the garden. Yours is a delight! I love the little world that you have created up there on your hilltop.

Perhaps the quiet breeze, bird cheeps, alone time has been "food" for your soul . . .
No doubt about it . . . I see success and many fruits of your labor . . .
What a woman . . .
