Farm Food

At this point in my life, I rarely buy new cookbooks.
I'm a dump and stir kind of a cook. Always have been. Measuring spoons are nonexistent in the kitchen.  I do like to look at recipes for inspirations though. I am just really bad at following the directions.

But when I was pointed Ian's Knauer's 'The Farm' by a special friend I could not resist.

It is beautifully written and photographed.
Knauer's story so reflects our ever evolving philosophy of  food and gardening.

goodness your garden is so ahead of ours, we can't get anything in its too wet and cold. Our apple trees are still in the blossom stage.

I love cookery books but always end up cooking the same things or making it up as I go along. I'm a "what can I do with that" kind of cook

We are really enjoying growing our own food, trying to eat as much fresh or canned/dehydrated as we can. We're on a ridgetop so we don't have that beautiful ground that you do!

Looks like a fine garden in process there . . . ready soon for "dump and stir". My kind of cooking precisely. No doubt why I am better as the cook and not the baker. I like browsing cook books though. At the Farm looks like a good book . . .

Your garden is looking good. We had a frost last night... I covered everything but haven't been out yet to see how the plants fared.

Farm-fresh food is definitely the best!

That looks like a great recipe book -- I could use some inspiration in the kitchen as it seems I keep making the same things over and over! :)

Thank you so much for sharing at Rural Thursdays this week.
