The Bounty

It's been an amazing gardening year thus far.

But I am not sure what to make of the albino squash and cukes.

Long relatively cool spring with ample rain.

The freezer is full of broccoli, brussel spouts, peas, kohlrabi,

and of course peas.

The pigs really enjoy all the garden scraps

There is a big 'ole crock of cabbage fermenting into sauerkraut in the cellar...a new experiment for me ...and the canning has begun.

It has all seemed a bit easier this year.

corn, pumpkins, limas, butternut and watermelon on the way in the far outer patch

Perhaps its the experience factor.
Perhaps its the better tools and reworking of layout, water lines and fencing.

I don't mind weeding. Listening to the songs of the birds and the wind chimes is so soothing.
Perhaps it is that I have spent more time in the veggie patches as an escape from the elders when needed.

Perhaps it is simply that I love what I do.

After much begging and pleading,

I sent the sheep out into a new field today.
All that new lush green grass...

Hassett, better known as Hassie Mae.

So what did they go for?

Leonard the Great, who goes by Leo 'cause he prefers to be a Simple Man.

Fallen oak leaves.

Intense storms at the city place this evening.
So interesting to watch here high up on the 12th floor of the tower.
Lightning hitting the river.
Rain forcing it way in around the window frames.
That wind.

But the sky afterwards...

sooc
Scary or stunning?
What do you think?

Our boy Andy, better known to many as Bummy, his bride-to-be and her parents came up from Nashville last weekend for a little engagement celebration with their DC area friends and family.

Lindenberry was filled with happy people, good food,
and lots of beverages of all sorts.

I may, or may not, have carried the theme a bit too far,

But all that really matters was showing these two just how much we love them and wish them the very best that marriage has to offer.
