Looking Back on a Great Day

One week last October started with with the arrival new wee one to our family,  the loss of a great man from the family in the middle of the week, and then ended with a beginning really, with a joy filled day of promises as we welcomed Kathleen into our family.

Our Joey made it for the day, leaving his wife and newborn in the effort.

We all know that was hard for he and Fifi and are filled with gratitude. That is why this photo of my three sons is special to me.

The two on the end have that smile I know well. The one that says some mischief is about to happen

All the traditional elements,

including the fun.

Then a not so private moment just before the newlyweds were whisked away,

in an old Cadillac once belonging to Waylon Jennings, by Bummy's choosing of course.

With all this family to love and care for Andy and Kathleen,

We trust their marriage with be just as wonderful as their Wedding Day was.

Blankets for the Babes

A few long completed Finished Objects to share:

A chevron blanket made for this little one's shower. We didn't know that he was a he, but I new I could not go wrong with these colors as they are DIL Fifi's favorites.

Hi Tucker. Marme Loves you.

And while that easy on-the-go-knit-without-thinking blanket was in the works, I was working on this during the quiet-need-to-concentrate moments:

A Christening shawl for my son's son. 

Tucker's special day has not yet happened, but he has been practicing.

And now we wait for this blanket to have a wee one snuggled in it...

Any day now my Kate and her family will welcome baby Four.
