Wisteria Farm and Vinyard

A lovely little place, just down the road from our farm.

Complete with a pink roofed barn,

that houses the lawn mowers,

and bug control devises.

We grabbed a bottle of chardonnay from the tasting room,
and went for a walk around the property,

which led to Hawksbill Creek,

and a bit of fun for the grandsons and Uncle Joey.

I think dear daughter might like visiting a winery a bit better in about 2 more months.
We are going to have to relearn to share the little guys when their Daddy arrives back to is family later in the week.
Safe travels Kev!
Yup, a new favorite place.

Barnery Turned Winery

Our way of preparing for a monster storm?
Going motorcycle riding with our oldest and his friends while stopping in at a couple of those awesome Virginia Wineries.

Although I have been to the small and quaint Sharp Rock Winery a few times, looking at it from the vantage point of posting Barn Charm photos was a new opportunity.

We also had stopped at
Early Mountain Vineyards (formerly Sweely Estate Winery)

I am quite happy the old barn was spared demolition when the large stately
hospitality areas were built.

The new owners have made vast improvements since we last visited.
Inside was a fabulous tasting room

and outside plenty of space for relaxing

or if the spirit moves you...and you are as competitive as my Joey

a little game involving trying to catch a ring on the hook on the pole.
 Joey won.
I lost count on how many tries it took.
(Or how many glasses of wine were consumed waiting for someone to score)
I do believe a good time was had by all.

Hope all my fellow Mid-Atlantic blogger friends stay safe.
I will be knitting and baking my way through the wind and rain.
And maybe enjoying a glass of wine or two..

Sunday Drive

Seemed many had the same thought.

The GPS lady had no say at all this time.

We knew where we were headed.

Up and over the mountain from our home and along Fort Valley Road.

One of the most scenic in Virginia.

Enjoy the tour!

Apple Harvest Shed

I like the evolution of this old home. Can you see where a porch used to be?

Old Rag Mountain. A hiker's paradise. Our farm is on the other side.

That orb would make a great centerpiece in the garden

Much respect for those enjoying the moment without the motor.

All of the photos were taken while cruising. Thank goodness for the super fast automatic shutter setting thingy.

Happily sharing with Barn Charm
Hope you have a wonderful week.

We left western Pennsylvania heading home to Virginia's Shenandoah Valley by way of Maryland and West Virginia.

I on the back of the Harley snapping drive-by photos of barns

and the emerging Autumn scenery.

Fritz arguing with the GPS lady

who wanted us to do this

instead of this.

{Fritz won}

We are back on the farm safe, but perhaps not so sound in a few folks minds.

1280 miles complete.

I can't wait to do it again.
